Concentrations

UC Law offers Concentrations for students to pursue a deeper understanding of a specific field of legal practice. Concentrations are noted on graduates' transcripts, signalling to potential employers advanced knowledge in the Concentration area.

Concentrations allow UC Law students to gain the skills and knowledge required for effective practice through coursework, practical experiences, and life of the college components. The Concentration areas are:

Concentration in Corporate Law

Concentration in Criminal Law and Wrongful Convictions

Concentration in Health Law

The Health Law Concentration allows students to explore and demonstrate an interest in the study of health law. Students pursuing this concentration will be prepared to represent health care providers and systems, work in the public sector, or provide individual advocacy. To qualify for the concentration, students must satisfy both the credit hour requirements and the distribution requirements. Students will verify their satisfaction of the requirements by submitting an "Application for Concentration in Health Law" to the College of Law Registrar at least one month prior to the date of their graduation. Concentration in International Legal Studies

The concentration in International Legal Studies is designed to allow students to demonstrate their knowledge of the field. To qualify for the concentration, students must satisfy both the Credit Hours Requirement and the Distribution Requirement. Students will verify their satisfaction of the requirements by submitting an "Application for Concentration in International Legal Studies" to the College of Law Registrar at least one month prior to the date of their graduation. Concentration in Labor and Employment Law

The Labor and Employment Law Concentration allows students to explore and demonstrate their interest in workplace law. Students pursuing the concentration will be prepared to represent workers, unions, employers, and government agencies; work in the public or private sector; work as in-house counsel; or provide individual advocacy. To qualify for the concentration, students must satisfy both the credit hour requirements and the distribution requirements. Students will verify their satisfaction of the requirements by submitting an "Application for Concentration in Labor and Employment Law" to the College of Law Registrar at least one month prior to the date of their graduation. Social Justice Concentration

As one of the nation’s leading social justice law schools, the concentration in Social Justice is designed to allow students to demonstrate their advanced knowledge of the subject area. To qualify for the concentration, students must satisfy both the Credit Hours Requirement and the Distribution Requirement. Students will verify their satisfaction of the requirements by submitting an "Application for Concentration in Social Justice" to the College of Law Registrar at least one month prior to the date of their graduation.
