Cincinnati Law’s Trial Practice Team Advances to National Competition
Cincinnati, OH—Congratulations to Cincinnati Law’s Trial Practice Team Chris Diedling and Robert Jones, who recently won the 2016 Regional Texas Young Lawyer’s Association (TYLA) competition. With this win they advance to the national competition, which will be held in Dallas, TX, March 30-April 3, 2016.
“I could not have asked for a better Trial Team partner than Rob Jones. We put in a lot of hard work this semester and we are thrilled to see it pay off!” said team member Chris Diedling. “Our deepest thanks go to our teammates—Jackie Welp and Amanda Pipik; our coaches—Bill Markovits, Bill Blessing, and Eric Kmetz; presentation consulatant Rocco Dal Vera; and our advisor, Professor Marjorie Aaron. We are now preparing to compete in the national TYLA competition in Dallas!”
Cincinnati Law’s team will compete against 27 other teams from across the country. They include American University Washington College of Law, Stanford Law School, Yale Law School, Harvard Law School, Temple University Beasley School of Law, among many others.
About the Texas Young Lawyer’s Association National Trial Competition
The National Trial Competition is one of the oldest and most prestigious mock trial competitions in the country. Established in 1975 its purpose is to encourage and strengthen students’ advocacy skills through quality competition and valuable interactions with members of the bench and bar. Every ABA-accredited law school is invited to compete in the annual competition. The top two teams from each of the 14 regional tournaments advance to the championship round.
