December 29, 2015 - Bruce R. Schrader, II '87, a partner in Roetzel’s Akron, Ohio, office (B.A. 1984, The University of Akron) has been named a 2016 Ohio Super Lawyer in the field of Creditor Debtor Rights by Ohio Super Lawyers magazine.

December 16, 2015 - Heath Edwards '09 (B.S. 2005, Vanderbilt University) joined Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis, LLP as an associate. He represents employers in the healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, retail and hospitality industries regarding lawsuits and charges brought under federal labor and employment laws. Prior to joining Waller, Edwards was a Senior Associate with FordHarrison in Atlanta.

December 08, 2015 - Rafael Soares is working on litigation, subrogation and insurance cases at the Cincinnati office of a national subrogation law firm called Rathbone Group, with its headquarters in Cleveland.

December 04, 2015 - Ellen Eardley '03, currently an assistant vice provost and MU Title IX administrator at The University of Missouri-Columbia, will lead the new office for Civil Rights and Title IX to centralize discrimination reporting and investigation.

November 30, 2015 - Candi Taggart '78, partner at Porter Wright Morris & Arthur LLP, received the Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys Excellence in Advocacy Award. The award honors lawyers who exemplify the profession by their creativity, advocacy skills, efforts to educate newer attorneys and effectively represent their clients inside and outside the courtroom. 

November 19, 2015 - Staci M. Jenkins ‘05 has been elected to serve as the 2016 President of the Ohio Chapter of the Healthcare Businesswomen Association (HBA). She served as the 2015 President Elect of the Ohio Chapter.  As an immigration partner at Thompson Hine, Staci counsels and concentrates on advising health care entities, including hospitals, health care practices, pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers.  Staci also serves on the Hoxworth Blood Center Community Advisory Board.

November 18, 2015 - Alumna Jennifer Dollard '15 welcomed as Faruki Ireland & Cox's Newest Associate.

November 09, 2015 - Steve Wolnitzek '74 recently reappointed as Chair of the Kentucky Judicial Conduct Commission which oversees judicial discipline for the Kentucky Unified Court System. He served as Chair since 1/1/96 and as a member since September, 1995.

November 03, 2015 - KMK Law hired Christopher S Brinkman '15 as a new associate.

May 06, 2015 - UC Alum Catherine Neal '98 inducted in the 2015 Western Brown Hall of Fame.

May 06, 2015 - Eric Palmer '99 has been named the new Executive Director of the American Association of University Professors at the University of Cincinnati. The AAUP is the only professional organization whose primary purpose is to enhance the academy by preserving shared governance, faculty and student rights, legal advocacy and collective bargaining. In 1974 the AAUP at UC was among the first AAUP chapters in the nation to organize for collective bargaining rights. Representing nearly 2,000 faculty members, it remains one of the largest single-university unionized faculty bodies in the U.S. For the past four years Palmer has served as the Director of Contract Administration and Organizing. He has a broad background in labor law that includes work for the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and the United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America (UE). Prior to joining the AAUP, Palmer was an attorney at Legal Aid Society of Southwest Ohio.

January 28, 2015 - Michigan Governor Rick Snyder has appointed Christopher T. Haenicke, '93 to the bench of the Eighth District Court, located in Kalamazoo County. In Michigan, the district courts handle traffic violations, civil cases with claims up to $25,000, landlord-tenant matters, most traffic tickets, and all misdemeanor criminal cases.
