Lecture: False Confessions

October 22, 2013 12:10pm
Room 114

Nationally-recognized forensic psychiatrist Dr. Scott Bresler will be giving a lecture in Room 118 at 12:10 on Tuesday, October 22nd, on the phenomenon of false confessions.

Contrary to the common assumptions, DNA testing and the Innocence Movement have proved that innocent people frequently buckle under the pressure of police interrogation and confess to crimes--even murders--that they did not commit.  Dr. Bresler will discuss this problem and the psychological reasons behind it.

This event is jointly sponsored by the Criminal Law Association and the Ohio Innocence Project.

Please bring your own lunch and join us for this interesting talk.
