Lourdes Perrino obtained a B.S. degree in Environmental Science from University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio. While at UC, Lourdes was awarded the Ohio Environmental Science and Environmental Engineering Scholarship from the Ohio EPA and participated in the Darwin T. Turner Scholarship Program for minority students. Lourdes also conducted undergraduate research in the field of ecology, studying the behavior of invasive species. As a part of her research, Lourdes participated in the Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Program.
Lourdes originally began her undergraduate career as a pre-med student but in her Junior year, realized that her interests lay more in the field of law. Throughout law school, Lourdes has continued to pursue opportunities to further her academic interests including the Honor Council, a Justice on Student Court, Associate Editor of the Freedom Center Journal, and a member of the Environmental Law Society. In the summer of 2010 Lourdes worked as a summer associate at the firm of Baker & Hostetler in their Cincinnati office. She expects her Weaver Fellowship to further her interest in the intersection of law and medicine as well as providing her with a better understanding of mental health issues in the legal field.
