I have always been interested in how mental health issues relate to society at large. This interest led me to major in Psychology at The George Washington University. I spent the summer prior to my 2L year interning with the Marion County Public Defender Agency. I interacted with clients in Marion County’s mental health court and additionally worked on appellate briefs regarding civil commitments.
The Weaver Fellowship allows me to continue my interest in Psychology to study mental health issues within a legal framework. I hope to gain through the Weaver Fellowship academic scholarship opportunities, as well as practical experiences that involve mental health and the law. I would also like to increase my understanding of how Psychology and the law extend into other areas such as employment law.
