History of the Corporate Law Center

The Corporate Law Symposium was first held at the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 1988 and has been held continuously since then. The Symposium, co-sponsored by the University of Cincinnati Law Review, attracts leading experts to the College to discuss topics that present both intellectual and practical challenges to lawyers and business people.

In 1994, the College of Law received a $1 million gift from the USX Foundation, Inc. to establish the Corporate Law Center. The gift was made in honor of Charles A. Corry ‘59, Chairman and Chief Executive officer of USX Corporation. The Center’s mission was to assist the College of Law in carrying out programs relating to the education and training of law students in the field of corporate law.
