Karla Markley Hall joined the Center for Professional Development as the Director of Externships & Public Service in August 2012. In this role she manages the Legal Externship Program, assists with the Urban Law Fellowship Program, and supports students’ career aspirations. Ms. Hall most recently worked as a staff attorney for the Ohio Innocence Project here at the College of Law. In that role she not only represented convicted felons attempting to prove their innoncence, but she also routinely supervised students who served as fellows.
Ms. Hall's professional experience includes working as the chief law clerk for the Honorable William O. Bertelsman and she also was a law clerk to the Honorable S. Arthur Speigel immediately following graduation from law school. Additionally she was a litigation attorney at Helmer, Lugbill, Martins & Neff, n.k.a., Helmer, Martins, Rice & Popham.
She is a graduate of Miami University and received her law degree, with distinction, from Ohio Northern University College of Law where she was editor-in-chief of the Ohio Northern University Law Review.
