Answering the call book coverAbout the Lecture and Book Event:
Described as an extraordinary eyewitness account from an unsung hero, Answering the Call shares insights about the battle for racial equality in America—a battle that saw great victories during the civil rights era, some of its signal achievements in the desegregation fights of the 1970s and, notable, setbacks in the affirmative action debates that continue into the present in Ferguson, Baltimore, and beyond.

About the Speaker:
Judge Nathaniel Jones was formerly General Counsel to the NAACP, a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and Blank Rome’s first Chief Officer of Diversity and Inclusion. In recognition of his lifelong commitment to the battle for civil rights, he was awarded the 2016 Springarn Medal from the NAACP, and was honored as an International Freedom Conductor by the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center.
