Nicholas Longworth, III, Alumni Achievement Award

In 1988, the Hooding Committee initiated the Nicholas Longworth, III, Alumni Achievement Award to annually recognize graduates of the College of Law for outstanding contributions in a wide range of endeavors. These endeavors may include private law practice, internal corporate legal counsel, education or scholarly works, public or community service, or business or industry achievement.

The award is named in honor of Nicholas Longworth, III, a distinguished graduate of the College of Law, who served as representative to the U.S. Congress from the First District of Ohio for 26 years and was Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1925 until 1931, the year of his death.
