My name is Amanda Kennedy, and I am a 3L at the University of Cincinnati College of Law. I came to UC after obtaining my BBA in Marketing from the University of Kentucky. During my first year of law school, I became active in the Student Bar Association planning charity fundraising events, such as the Barrister’s Ball, Karaoke for Haiti, as well as the Day of Service. I currently hold the position of Head of Alumni Relations in Phi Alpha Delta, and have actively participated in the Volunteer Interest Tax Assistance program. I am a student leader for Section 4 of the Class of 2014.
The last two years I have been a Summer Public Interest Law Fellow, working with the Kenton County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office and focusing in felony prosecution. I have experience working with the City of Covington on municipal issues, and have been active in the formation and establishment of UC’s new Entrepreneurship and Community Development Clinic. This fall, I will continue my work with the clinic as a legal intern by assisting entrepreneurs with legal issues small business owners often face. Additionally, I will return to volunteering at the Kenton County Commonwealth Attorney, working with my limited license and trying felony cases in Kentucky’s 16th Circuit Court.
