IngotBar Exam Results Are Strong

The results for UC Law students who took the July 2010 Ohio Bar Exam are in and the College of Law, once again, had a strong showing. UC ranked second in the state for overall test takers. While the passage rate for all takers was 82.8 percent, the College of Law’s passage rate was higher at 90 percent. (Read more)

Rachel SmithAs an undergraduate student at Barnard College at Colombia University in New York, Professor Rachel Smith was a geology major. Destiny MooreDaniel and Gloria Carlineo, ’98 and ’97 respectively, had classes together in law school and didn’t even know it.  Although they both graduated from UC Law and were at the school at the same time, the couple actually met after graduation when they were serving as student representatives at law school forums in Texas. Michelle SchultzRyan SchultzBoth originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Ryan and Michelle Schultz, both members of the Class of 2006, met during their undergraduate years at the University of Minnesota. In fact, the couple met the weekend before college started in the fall 1999; Michelle, as a freshman, had moved in early to participate in a new student weekend sponsored by the school to allow fellow incoming freshmen to get to know other students before classes started; and Ryan, a junior, was working as one of the counselors. sandersonWhile they were waiting for the first Introduction to Law class in August 2008 to begin, Ross Bextermueller asked Sarah Sanderson if she was ready for law school. The two have been dating since.  In their final year of law school, Bextermueller and Sanderson, now engaged, are scheduled to graduate next May as members of the Class of 2011. (Read more)

Law and fashion collided on the runway at the College of Law’s “What Not to Wear” event held October 21, 2010. The Student Bar Association and the Center for Professional Development co-sponsored the entertaining event designed to help those future lawyers struggling with questions about appropriate dress for the workplace—be it the office or the courtroom. IngotLaw School Launches Center for Race, Gender, and Social Justice: A Review

On October 22, 2010, the Center for Race, Gender, and Social Justice officially launched, as the inaugural luncheon, featuring Tina M. Tchen, Executive Director of the White House Council on Women and Director of White House Office of Public Engagement, was held. Ms. Tchen gave the keynote address.
