Arthur MillerEach summer second and third-year law students have the opportunity to spend their summer gaining professional experience as they intern with law firms, businesses, and in government offices. Great training ground, it provides an opportunity to get a "bird's eye view" of a typical day in the life of an attorney. This summer, several law students spent their summer in Washington D.C.  Meet two of them: Lauren VanHook and Brad Dunkle. (Read more)

Goertemiller worked with Stephanie Jones of Stephanie Jones Strategies, LLC, a company with expertise in the areas of civil rights and social justice, economic empowerment, education, non-profit management, and energy.  (Read more)

IngotThe Brandery Fellowship Program: A Partnership with the College of Law

Lewis GoldfarbThis summer four rising third-year law students got to experience first-hand what it takes to work with and counsel entrepreneurs at The Brandery, a local—but nationally ranked—startup accelerator. The students were split into teams of two, and each team had the opportunity to work with five startup companies throughout the summer, providing them with a large variety of legal services. IngotPro Bono Work and Transcript Recognition Program at UC Law

Since 1997, the College of Law has recognized students who have committed to volunteer legal public interest work through its Transcript Recognition Program. Students who volunteer 15 or more legal public interest hours in a semester receive a notation on their transcript reflecting their service. (Read more)

Ingot Alumni Reunion Weekend 2013

UC symbol redThe Alumni Reunion Weekend will be October 18-20, 2013 for classes ending in 3's and 8's (e.g., 1953, 1978). On Friday, October 18, each class will host their own event. On Saturday, October 19, an all-class tailgate party will be held on Blegen lawn. Food and beverages will be provided. Ingot 2013 William Howard Taft Lecture on Constitutional Law

David StraussThe College of Law will host Professor David Strauss, the Gerald Ratner Distinguished Service Professor of Law, University of Chicago Law School, as the William Howard Taft Lecturer on Constitutional Law. He will present "Constitutional Fundamentalism and the Power of the President:  The Battle Over Recess Appointments" at a public lecture to be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at 12:15 p.m. at the College of Law. During his lecture, Professor Strauss will discuss the premise that if presidents have, historically, exercised their power in a certain way, is that a good reason to interpret the Constitution to say that they can continue using that power?
