Catalyst DC: Mission Accomplished!
DC or bust could easily have been the refrain of 7 students during fall break, but neither the rain nor the government shutdown kept them from participating in the DC Catalyst Program, a micro-mentoring program that folded the students into the lives of almost twenty alumni, October 7-9. Catalyst began with an informal reception where students met with alumni from a variety of settings including SEC, State Department and Department of Transportation among others.
A member of the Washington Lawyers’ Committee also attended the reception and discussed summer as well as post-graduate volunteer opportunities. Two days were devoted to visiting law firms, public interest organizations as well as public sector offices with one goal in mind – learning more about working in the District and, according to participants, mission accomplished!
