Aug 16 2011 Deborah S. Brenneman '93 has been selected as a finalist for the 2011 Greater Cincinnati ATHENA® Award, to be presented by Cincymagazine. The award honors individuals who demonstrate excellence, creativity and initiative in their business or profession; provide valuable service by contributing time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community; and actively assist women in realizing their full leadership potential.
As a partner in Thompson Hine’s Labor & Employment and Business Litigation practice groups, Brenneman focuses her practice on representing management in all areas of employment law with an emphasis on preventive counseling, training, non-competition matters and employment litigation.
Brenneman’s community activities are numerous. She is very active in the West Chester-Liberty Chamber Alliance, which awarded her its Women of Excellence Award in 2010. She currently serves on the organization’s board of trustees and was a member of Class V of its SEBC Leadership 21 program. In addition, she serves on the Executive Leadership Team for the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women Campaign, participates in the Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce’s WE Lead program, is a member of the board of trustees for Exhale Dance Tribe and previously served on the board of trustees for Dominican Community Services. She also is a volunteer mentor for Visions Community Center and serves in the Xavier Mentoring Program.
