Kuhnell ’01 elected Partner at Ulmer & Berne LLP
Jan 3 2011 Ulmer & Berne LLP has announced the election of Clayton L. Kuhnell ’01 to partner at the firm. Kuhnell, of the firm’s Cincinnati office, focuses his practice on intellectual property and technology law. He counsels clients on corporate and litigation matters involving intellectual property issues, particularly relating to patents, trademarks and copyrights. He prepares and prosecutes U.S. and foreign patent applications in the chemical, pharmaceutical, mechanical and software arts. In addition, Kuhnell has prepared numerous patentability, freedom to practice, non-infringement and validity opinions. He also has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating license, consulting, development and settlement agreements involving intellectual property matters. Kuhnell’s patent litigation experience includes appearances in multiple federal courts and before the International Trade Commission. In addition to his role at Ulmer & Berne LLP, he serves as an adjunct professor at the law school teaching in the area of intellectual property.
