The Rendigs Competition is the only national competition exclusively devoted to products liability law. The competition honors Mr. August A. Rendigs, Jr. (1895-1988), one of Cincinnati's most respected trial lawyers. Mr. Rendigs was known for his thorough preparation, jury presence, advocacy skills, and his extraordinary integrity. Throughout his career, Mr. Rendigs recognized the importance of a quality legal education and expressed a firm commitment to aiding law students to become the best our profession has to offer.
This competition is open to thirty teams from ABA-accredited law schools. Each competing team must write one appellate brief and argue both sides of the appeal. All participants must argue at least once during the three prelimiary rounds. Based on preliminary round performance, teams will be selected to compete in the quarterfinal, semifinal, and final rounds.
In addition to the competition, we offer enjoyable social programs and provide a friendly atmosphere to all competitors. Your registratio nfee covers the costs of meals during a scheduled oral arguments, a semi-formal banquet with a keynote speaker, and other social events.
The University of Cincinnati Moot Court Honor Board strives to offer one of the country's best appellate moot court competitions by providing a rewarding, educaitonal, and fun-filled event. We secure the highest caliber of judges to preside over oral arguments.
